Photo library

Open a library, page through stable photo identities, request previews and keep selection or organisation actions attached to the same records.

Workflow

  1. Open the photo libraryThe person opens the library surface. The application must distinguish no configured library, a disconnected library and a successfully opened empty library.
  2. Load stable photo recordsThe screen asks its repository or page source for catalogue records. Stable identifiers, rather than grid positions or filenames alone, carry selection and later actions.
  3. Resolve photo previewsVisible records request previews through engine.media.preview. A missing preview remains attached to its photo and must not be replaced with an unrelated image.
  4. Show unavailable stateDisconnected storage, unavailable originals and failed previews are explicit outcomes. The library does not report these as a successful empty collection.
  5. Browse and selectThe grid presents records and preserves selection as pages or preview updates arrive. Organisation commands operate on the selected stable identities.
  6. Apply an acknowledged actionA selected-item action passes identities to the owning feature. Planning is not completion; the UI changes durable state only after that feature acknowledges its result.

Failure boundaries

  • Library cannot openUnavailable, not empty: Connection or permission problem
  • Preview missingPlaceholder tied to the photo: Preview work unavailable or pending
  • Selection changes after pagingIdentity contract failure: Do not submit action
