Vanilla · in development

A calmer way to understand your photo library.

Vanilla is the first EisKaffee app in active development. It brings photographs, previews and library evidence into one clear place.

EisKaffee Vanilla iced-coffee character

Vanilla is being designed for photo libraries that have grown across laptops, external drives and archives. The goal is to make the library understandable before asking someone to reorganise it.

See the library without opening every original

Photo previews let the library show a small, appropriate image while the full original stays where it belongs. The preview workflow checks existing cached and prepared renditions before it considers decoding an original.

Keep availability honest

A missing preview is not treated as a missing photograph. Vanilla distinguishes an available preview, an inaccessible original, deferred work and a failed read so the interface can explain what is actually known.

Understand where photographs live

The architecture separates the photo record from its copies and storage destinations. This allows the same library view to grow from local disks toward network or cloud destinations without changing the user’s mental model.

Current status

Vanilla is in development. The current preview is view-only, uses invented data and demonstrates interface direction rather than a production release.
